Governor and Chief Minister Pay Tribute at Chaityabhoomi on the Occasion of the 134th Birth Anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar
Mumbai, 14th April: On the occasion of the 134th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan called upon everyone to strive towards realizing Dr. Ambedkar’s dream of social transformation and a society based on social and economic equality. He was speaking at an event held at Chaityabhoomi. Present at the event were Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Chairman of the Legislative Council Ram Shinde, Minister of Social Justice Sanjay Shirsat, Minister of Cultural Affairs Ashish Shelar, Minister of Soil and Water Conservation Sanjay Rathod, Chief Secretary Sujata Saunik, Municipal Commissioner of Mumbai Bhushan Gagrani, and other distinguished guests.
Governor Radhakrishnan said, Dr. Babasaheb is revered as the architect of India’s Constitution, a great social reformer, and a patriot. He praised Dr. Ambedkar’s contributions towards democracy, social equality, and gender equality.
The Governor also mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, when taking the oath of office, had considered the Constitution as his guiding force. He expressed his belief that the Dr. Ambedkar Memorial being built at Indu Mill would become an inspiration for future generations.
