Coffee Table Book Unveiled by District Mineral Foundation
Chandrapur and Gadchiroli Emerging as Industrial Magnets
Chandrapur, Sept. 28: Several major initiatives are being implemented in Chandrapur district through the District Mineral Foundation Fund. These include a cancer hospital in collaboration with Tata Trusts, skill-based employment, healthcare, infrastructure development, education and innovative projects. Specially, Chandrapur and Gadchiroli are emerging as industrial magnets, and it is industrial development that will lead to a prosperous economy, said Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
He was speaking at the unveiling of a Coffee Table Book prepared by the District Mineral Foundation at the rest house in Mul (Chandrapur). On the occasion, Tribal Development Minister and Guardian Minister of Chandrapur Dr. Ashok Uike, MLAs Sudhir Mungantiwar, Kishor Jorgewar, Deorao Bhongle, along with District Collector Vinay Gowda, CEO Pulkit Singh, Additional Collector Dr. Nitin Vyawahare, District Mining Officer Rohan Thavare and other officials were present.
Stating that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision is to ensure that citizens in mining-affected areas must benefit from mineral funds, the Chief Minister added “Since mining and transportation cause inconvenience to locals, they must be the foremost beneficiaries.” Chandrapur district has undertaken many commendable initiatives in the mineral sector. Importantly, projects under the Mineral Development Fund focusing on employment generation, health, development, education, and skill-based innovation are being implemented effectively.
Chandrapur and Gadchiroli are being developed as industrial magnets, expected to generate employment for 1.5 lakh people. Development will be carried out while maintaining environmental balance. “Along with industrialization, Chandrapur should send out the message of protecting the environment. By emphasizing skill development and employment, a system will be created to ensure 100% jobs for locals,” assured CM Fadnavis.
Highlighting the successful completion of the 50-crore tree plantation drive, the Chief Minister also expressed the expectation that Chandrapur should once again set a major target in tree plantation. Maharashtra is the only state in India to have increased its green cover, thereby enriching its natural surroundings. Now, efforts are being focused on raising the state’s forest cover to above 33 percent. The Chief Minister also praised the Chandrapur district administration for its exemplary work through the Mineral Development Fund.
The program was conducted by Additional Collector Dr. Nitin Vyawahare, while District Collector Vinay Gowda delivered the vote of thanks.
