CM, Dy CM launch grant distribution to onion-producing farmers
Rs. 300 crore to be given to 3 lakh farmers as grant
Mumbai, Sept. 6: The state government had taken a decision to grant Rs. 350 per quintal and a maximum of 200 quintals per farmer on the onion sold during the period February 1 to March 31, 2023. The first phase of this grant distribution was inaugurated after the cabinet meeting today by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadanvis, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, and Marketing Minister Abdul Sattar.
In the first phase, Rs. 300 crores will be distributed online to three lakh onion-producing farmers. The second phase for grant distribution will be launched soon.
The grant will be directly credited online into the bank accounts of eligible farmers of Nagpur, Raigad, Sangli, Satara, Thane, Amravati, Buldana, Chandrapur, Wardha, Latur, Yavatmal, Akola, Jalna, and Washim districts where the demand for grant is less than Rs. 10 crore.
Rs. 10,000/= will be credited to the bank accounts of eligible onion-producing farmers of Nashik, Usmanabad, Pune, Solapur, Ahmadnagar, Dhulia, Jalgaon, Kolhapur, and Beed districts where the demand for grant exceeded Rs. 10 crore. The farmers whose bills are up to Rs 10,000/= will get the complete grant while those beneficiaries whose bills are over Rs. 10,000/= will be given Rs. 10,000/= per head in the first
phase.
