Loan Waiver of ₹36,000 Crore for 5.6 Million Farmers
The Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Loan Waiver Scheme is being implemented for farmers, under which loan waivers amounting to ₹36,000 crore are being provided to 5.6 million farmers. Significant progress has also been made towards providing electricity to farmers during the daytime, with 76 percent of farmers currently receiving daytime power. The government will fulfil its resolve to provide daytime electricity to 100 percent of farmers within the next year, the Chief Minister said.
Previous generations in Maharashtra witnessed drought; however, the government is working to ensure that future generations do not have to face drought. Through river-linking projects, efforts are being made to bring water to drought-prone areas of Marathwada, Vidarbha, North Maharashtra and Western Maharashtra. Through these initiatives, the government is committed to making Maharashtra permanently drought-free, he said.
