Maharashtra’s Economic Growth Rate at 8.8 Percent

Maharashtra’s Economic Growth Rate at 8.8 Percent

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has achieved the milestone of becoming the world’s fourth-largest economy over the past twelve years, while the country has succeeded in bringing 250 million people out of poverty. Developed India does not mean merely a developed economy; it means bringing positive transformation to the lives of every section of society, including the underprivileged, the poor, tribals, farmers, agricultural labourers and women, the Chief Minister said.

Maharashtra is the state with the largest economy in the country, and its economic growth rate during the first half of the current year has been nearly 8.8 percent, he said. The government is making efforts to transform every district into a ‘growth engine’ of development, and around 13 districts have so far achieved their Prescribed targets. He said the government is committed to ensuring that development reaches every part of the state, including Gadchiroli, Palghar and Nandurbar.
