The Chief Minister said the objective of the camp was to ensure healthcare reaches the last person in society. He highlighted that the State Government has expanded healthcare infrastructure, increased the number of hospitals, and included several critical diseases under the Mahatma Phule Jan Arogya Yojana.
Over the last one and a half years, the Chief Minister’s Medical Assistance Fund has provided ₹452 crore for the treatment of 57,000 patients, he said. A digital system has also been introduced to ensure that beds reserved for poor patients in charitable hospitals are effectively utilized.
Mr. Fadnavis said that while the Mahatma Phule Jan Arogya Yojana provides treatment coverage up to ₹5 lakh, the government has adopted a policy of extending financial assistance up to ₹9 lakh for around ten critical illnesses and up to ₹35 lakh for certain highly expensive treatments.
