Groundbreaking Ceremony of Maharshi Sudarshan Valmiki Colony and Swapnapurti Housing Project under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana 2.0
Nagpur, July 12: The Maharashtra Government and the Nagpur Municipal Corporation are committed to the economic and social upliftment of every section of society, including sanitation workers. Considering the growing needs and challenges of the city, appointment orders for around 500 personnel will soon be issued as per the recommendations of the Lad-Page Committee, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced.
The Chief Minister was speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony of the Maharshi Sudarshan Valmiki Colony and the Swapnapurti Housing Project under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) 2.0, being implemented by the Nagpur Municipal Corporation.
Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, Revenue Minister and Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Minister of State for Finance Adv. Ashish Jaiswal, Mayor Nita Thakre, Chairman of the Safai Karmachari Commission Sher Singh Dagor, Deputy Mayor Leela Hatibed, Standing Committee Chairperson Shivani Dani, former Mayor Dayashankar Tiwari, Municipal Commissioner Dr. Vipin Itankar, and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis instructed officials to ensure that there is no compromise in the quality of construction, as the colony is being developed in the name of Maharshi Sudarshan Valmiki for sanitation workers. He said that the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is a significant initiative for fulfilling the dream of home ownership for economically weaker families. He further stated that the scheme would be implemented across all Assembly constituencies in the coming period.
