Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s Project is Highly Commendable

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari described the project as a highly commendable initiative aimed at improving the quality of life of the Sudarshan Valmiki community. He said that through these two projects, 800 to 900 families would receive permanent homes, and the State Government has given special attention to their implementation.
He also urged members of the community to explore opportunities in the hospitality sector in line with changing times, establish small enterprises to provide services, and generate employment opportunities.
In her introductory remarks, Mayor Nita Thakre provided details of the projects. Deputy Mayor Leela Hatibed highlighted the special initiatives being undertaken by the State Government and the Municipal Corporation for the welfare and upliftment of the community. Chairman of the Safai Karmachari Commission Sher Singh Dagor expressed gratitude to the State Government and the Nagpur Municipal Corporation for these significant development initiatives.
Under the Maharshi Sudarshan Valmiki Colony being developed at Mouza Nari by the Nagpur Municipal Corporation, a total of 392 two-bedroom apartments (2 BHK) will be constructed across 14 residential buildings exclusively for sanitation workers.
Similarly, under the Swapnapurti Housing Project of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) 2.0, a total of 518 affordable one-bedroom (1 BHK) and two-bedroom (2 BHK) apartments will be constructed for economically weaker sections.
Both projects are planned to be completed within three years. The housing complexes will be equipped with quality amenities including landscaped gardens, water supply, solar power systems, playgrounds, and security facilities.
