Low probability of widespread monsoon rainfall across Maharashtra until at least June 15
· Monsoon has entered Konkan, but is not yet active across the entire region; farmers are advised not to rush with sowing
Mumbai, June 7: The southwest monsoon has entered South Konkan, and moderate to heavy rainfall is forecast in parts of Sindhudurg and Ratnagiri districts until June 9. However, current weather forecasts indicate that both the overall intensity of rainfall and the pace of monsoon advancement across Maharashtra may remain subdued until at least June 15. Consequently, the likelihood of satisfactory and widespread rainfall across the state during this period appears low.
According to the latest weather forecasts, parts of Vidarbha, Marathwada, Khandesh, and Madhya Maharashtra may experience cloudy conditions and scattered thunderstorms accompanied by rain during the afternoon hours until at least June 15. However, the prevailing conditions do not yet suggest rainfall sufficient for widespread sowing operations.
