Grand Event in Nagpur on the Occasion of the 350th Martyrdom Anniversary of ‘Hind Di Chadar’ Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib
Postal stamp featuring Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib to be released
Mumbai, Nov 30 – Various awareness programmes are being conducted across the state to mark the 350th martyrdom anniversary of ‘Hind Di Chadar’ Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib. As part of these initiatives, a grand event will be held on 7 December 2025 in Nagpur, in the august presence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
In the meeting of the State Exhibition Committee, it was decided that the Indian Postal Department will release a commemorative postal stamp featuring the image of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib.
On 7 December, a programme has been organised from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Suresh Chandra Suri Ground, Jaripatka Police Station Road, Nara, Nagpur. A recent meeting of the state-level exhibition committee was held in Mumbai to review the preparations for the event. During the meeting, discussions were held regarding planning, and presentations of the exhibition were made.
The meeting was attended by Konkan Bhavan Additional District Collector and Committee Member Ravindra Pawar, Chairman of the State Punjabi Sahitya Academy and Committee Convenor Bal Malkit Singh, Coordinator and Executive Officer Dr. Jagdish Sakwan, Committee Members Ladaram Nagwani, Dr. Kultar Singh Cheema, Jayaram Pawar, Shrinivas Pulaiya, Ravindra Rathod, and Deputy Secretary of the Minority Development and Wakf Department Vishakha Aadhav, along with members of the state-level coordination committee and other officials.
The event will feature an exhibition of historical weapons reflecting the history of the Sindhi and Punjabi communities. The three-day programme will also showcase exhibitions providing information about the history, works, and service to the nation by saints. Sikh, Sikligar, Banjara, Labana, Mohyal, Valmiki, and Sindhi communities are coming together to organise this historic gathering.
A special exhibition of saints’ literature and books will also be arranged. Through this centenary gathering, the aim is to spread Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib’s message of religious protection, tolerance, and humanity to households across Maharashtra.
