 Governor Visits Cancer Awareness Camp for Raj Bhavan staff

 

Mumbai Dated 25 : Maharashtra Governor C. P. Radhakrishnan today (25 July) visited the Cancer Awareness Camp held at Raj Bhavan Club for officers and staff of Raj Bhavan and their families.

He took a detailed review of the awareness and health check-up programme. During his visit, the Governor emphasized the importance of regular pre-cancer screening, especially for women and girls.

The Governor stated that such camps must be organized frequently to spread awareness about cancer and the importance of early detection.

The Governor stressed that early screening helps in timely diagnosis and treatment, which can save lives. He appealed to the general public to participate in such camps and take advantage of the tests available.

The Cancer Awareness Camp and a special lecture were organized at the Raj Bhavan Club in collaboration with the Raj Bhavan Dispensary and the Cancer Patients Aid Association.

Free cancer screening camps were also held on 25th and 26th July, focusing on early detection.

The camp included cervical cancer prevention vaccination for girls and women aged 7 to 18. Various tests such as CBC, Mammography, Pap Smear, HPV Test, ENT Check-up, and Prostate (PSA) Test were conducted for men and women. The camp saw active participation from doctors, staff, cancer patients, and members of the Raj Bhavan family.
