 Country’s first MoU between the Environment Department and Coca-Cola for collection and recycling of PET bottles

  • Two key MoUs of the Environment Department and two guidance reports released at Mumbai Climate Week in the presence of Environment Minister Pankaja Munde

            Mumbai, Feb 18: To combat climate change and promote the circular economy, the Environment and Climate Change Department of the Government of Maharashtra and the State Climate Action Cell signed two important memorandums of understanding during Mumbai Climate Week 2026. At the programme held in the presence of State Environment and Climate Change Minister Pankaja Munde, the State Climate Action Cell signed an agreement with Climate Trade LLP, while the Environment and Climate Change Department signed an agreement with Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages to implement the Maha-rPET campaign. For the first time in the country, Coca-Cola has entered into an MoU with a state government for the collection and recycling of PET bottles.
