Sanchar Saathi’ Portal and App: Towards Transparency, Security, and Citizen Participation in the Telecom Sector

Mumbai, November 8: To ensure the digital safety of over 1.2 billion telecom subscribers in India, particularly mobile users, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has launched a citizen-centric initiative called “Sanchar Saathi.” Introduced in May 2023, this digital platform provides mobile users with greater control over their connections, protection against fraud, and a convenient mechanism to report security threats.

Vinay Jambhali, Director, Mumbai LSA Telecom Department, and Sumnesh Joshi, Deputy Director General (DDG), appealed to citizens across Maharashtra to remain alert and responsible regarding cyber safety.

Citizens are advised to remove unnecessary apps from their mobile devices, keep their phones updated with the latest security software, and download the ‘Sanchar Saathi’ app to benefit from its user-friendly and protective features.
