Bhosala Defence University Will Prove Instrumental for the Defence Production Industry

Nagpur, Sept. 13: With major national and international entrepreneurs investing heavily in the defence production sector, and three central defence corridors being developed, there is a rising demand for highly skilled manpower and experts equipped with advanced defence technology. In this context, Bhosala Defence University will play a vital role. The university must design its courses keeping in mind future requirements, said Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today.
The Central Hindu Military Education Society is setting up Bhosala Defence University in Nagpur. A one-day discussion session was organized with prominent entrepreneurs, experts from the defence production sector, and officers from the Indian Defence Forces to deliberate on the nature of a defence university and its role in the nation’s defence production sector. Chief Minister Fadnavis addressed the gathering at the valedictory session.
The session was attended by Air Chief Marshal R.K.S. Bhadauria, Air Chief Marshal V.R. Chaudhari, General Manoj Pande, Air Marshal Shirish Deo, Lt. Gen. Dr. Rajendra Nimbhorkar, Lt. Gen. Dr. Madhuri Kanhekar, Prof. Anil Sahasrabuddhe, Babasaheb N. Kalyani, Satyanarayan Nuwal, Dr. Jaijit Bhattacharya, Nitin Gokhale, Dr. Vijay Chauthaiwale, Adv. Sunil Manohar, Shrihari Desai, Prof. Makarand Kulkarni, Mahesh Dabak, Ashish Kulkarni, Narayan Ramaswami, Vice President Shailesh Joglekar, Rahul Dixit, and others.
While launching Bhosala Defence University with the participation of experts from diverse fields, various suggestions were put forth regarding course design, new research, and skilled manpower development. Expressing high expectations from the university, CM Fadnavis said it will play a crucial role in India’s defence, production, and research sectors. He added that the curriculum should include diverse subjects aligned with defence sector requirements. With rising global demand for new technologies in defence, special emphasis must be given to product quality and standardization. The vision behind creating this institution is to establish a world-class university on the lines of IIT Mumbai, he added.
