Increased Grants for NGOs Working for Leprosy Patients

Increased Grants for NGOs Working for Leprosy Patients

The Maharashtra Cabinet has approved an increase in financial assistance to NGOs working for the care and rehabilitation of leprosy patients. The decision was taken in today’s Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

As per the new decision, 13 private NGOs listed in Appendix-A, which provide hospital-based treatment for leprosy patients, will now receive a grant of ₹6,600 per patient per month instead of the previous ₹2,200. The grant will cover 80% of the expenses or a maximum of ₹6,600 per patient per month – whichever is lower – towards the maintenance of leprosy beds. This includes a total of 2,008 beds.

Additionally, 16 NGOs listed in Appendix-B, working on a rehabilitation model for leprosy patients, will now receive ₹6,000 per patient per month, up from the earlier ₹2,000. This covers a total of 1,975 beds
