Multipurpose cultural centre to come up in Maharashtra Sadan premises

New Delhi, July 28: The Maharashtra government had earlier announced the construction of a multipurpose cultural complex in Delhi during the valedictory function of the 98th All India Marathi Literary Conference held in the capital. A suitable site for the same has been identified within the Maharashtra Sadan premises. The proposed design of the complex was recently presented to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis by Resident Commissioner and Secretary R. Vimala.

During a review meeting held in New Delhi as part of Chief Minister Fadnavis' visit, several proposals concerning Maharashtra Sadan were discussed, with a detailed focus on the upcoming cultural complex. The proposed facility will include a multipurpose auditorium, residential arrangements for shortlisted candidates appearing for civil service interviews, a spacious library and study hall, and related amenities.

Resident Commissioner R. Vimala also made a detailed presentation regarding the accommodation facilities for officers and staff within the Maharashtra Sadan premises, as well as other administrative matters. Additionally, she informed the Chief Minister about ongoing planning to set up a year-round exhibition and sale center showcasing seasonal fruits from Maharashtra and products made by self-help groups.

A proposal to organize a “Maharashtra Mahotsav” in Delhi was also discussed, which would feature a variety of cultural programs highlighting the folk culture of Maharashtra. A request was made for financial support for the same.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expressed a positive response to all the proposed initiatives and gave directions to proceed with further action.
