Maharashtra Clinches Hat-Trick Victory at Khelo India Youth Games
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis Congratulates Medal-Winning Athletes
Mumbai, May 16 : “Well done! With your determination and perseverance, you have brought greater glory to Maharashtra’s sporting legacy. You all are the pride of the state,” said Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis while congratulating the Maharashtra team for achieving a hat-trick of overall championship titles at the Khelo India Youth Games.
Expressing his immense joy, CM Fadnavis lauded Maharashtra’s athletes for their outstanding performance, securing a total of 158 medals, including 58 gold, 47 silver, and 53 bronze. He also highlighted the proud achievement of Maharashtra setting 9 new records in the 7th edition of the Khelo India Games.
“The Khelo India initiative was launched in 2018 under the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to encourage athletes from rural areas and inspire them to perform at the international level. Maharashtra’s five-time overall championship wins reflect the talent and caliber of our rural athletes,” the Chief Minister said.
CM Fadnavis further praised all participating athletes, their coaches, mentors, and the families who have stood strongly behind the players. He extended his best wishes to everyone for their future endeavors.
