 Bonus for Paddy to be Announced in Nagpur Winter Session

Announcement by Chief Minister in 'Shasan Aplya Dari' Program

 

            Bhandara, Nov 20: Paddy is the main crop in the Bhandara district. There has been a demand to provide a bonus to paddy to give relief to paddy-producing farmers. The government is continuously working for the welfare of farmers. Therefore, it has been announced by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde today that a bonus for paddy will be declared in the upcoming winter session in Nagpur.

            The district-level program under the 'Shasan Aplya Dari' (Governance at Your Doorstep) campaign was organised at Chaitanya Police Ground, Bhandara. Chief Minister Mr. Shinde made this announcement during the event.

             Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Guardian Minister Dr. Vijaykumar Gavit, MP Sunil Mendhe, MLAs Narendra Bhondekar, Raju Karemore, former minister Parinay Fuke, former MP Shishupal Patle, Madhukar Kukde, former MLA Nanabhau Panchbudhe, Charan Waghmare, Special Police Inspector General Chhering Dorje, District Collector Yogesh Kumbhejkar, Chief Executive Officer Sameer Kurtakoti, and Police Superintendent Lohit Matani were present at this occasion.

            Paddy is the main crop in the district. Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Fadnavis had requested in his speech that the Chief Minister should announce a bonus for paddy to provide relief to paddy producers. Accordingly, Chief Minister Mr. Shinde confirmed the announcement of the bonus in the Nagpur session. It is necessary to speed up the purchase of paddy from farmers in the district. For this, the Chief Minister has directed the district administration to start procurement centers.

            Currently, the e-Crop Survey program is being implemented. Chief Minister Mr. Shinde also announced that the deadline for the crop survey program in Bhandara district has been extended to November 30, 2023. The Samruddhi Highway is being extended to Bhandara, Gondia, and Gadchiroli. The Chief Minister informed that the work on the DPR of this route is progressing rapidly.

            Bhandara district is rich in natural diversity and offers great potential for tourism growth. There is a demand for setting up a brass industry cluster in the district. The government is committed to taking necessary steps for the growth of tourism and industry in the district. The program aims to implement schemes directly at the doorstep of the general poor beneficiaries, and the program has benefited 1.84 crore beneficiaries in the state.

            Various initiatives are being undertaken for the general farmers and laborers. The government has launched a scheme where farmers can avail of crop insurance by paying just one rupee. This scheme has protected the crops of millions of farmers. Following the model of the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Yojana, the government has started the 'Namo Shetkari Samman' scheme, providing 12,000 rupees annually to the farmers in the state, with 6,000 from the central government and 6,000 from the state government. Maharashtra is the first state in the country to implement such a scheme, as informed by the Chief Minister.

            The policy of providing more assistance than the NDRF rules during disasters has been adopted to better assist those affected by disasters. A decision has been made to provide aid up to 3 hectares instead of 2 for affected farmers. Flood-affected families are being compensated with 10,000 rupees. The continuous rains have brought damage to the compensation scheme. For surgeries and treatments of general poor families, the Mahatma Jotirao Phule Jan Arogya Yojana now offers free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh rupees.

            The state road transport corporation has implemented various welfare decisions, including a 50% fare reduction for women and free travel for senior citizens above 75 years. Chief Minister Mr. Shinde also stated that in the future, general citizens and beneficiaries will not have to visit government offices for their work; all facilities will be available from home.

Farmers to Receive 12 Hours of Electricity Daily – Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis

            It is essential to provide sufficient electricity to agricultural pumps during the day. This demand comes from farmers and all levels. Hence, the Chief Minister has started the Chief Minister Saur Krishi Vahini (Solar Krishi Vahini scheme) Yojana. In the future, agricultural feeders will be powered by solar energy, ensuring 12 hours of electricity supply during the day for farmers, as informed by Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Fadnavis.

Distribution of Advances Worth 1,954 Crores – Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar

            This year, an ambitious comprehensive crop insurance scheme was launched. Under this scheme, advance payments have been distributed to affected farmers across the state. Approvals have been granted.
