Cultural Program Organized on the Occasion of the Tricentenary Birth Anniversary of Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar
Mumbai, 23rd: The 300th birth anniversary of Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar will be celebrated with great enthusiasm at various places across the state. On this occasion, special cultural programs are being organized in Nashik, Pune, and Nagpur. This tricentenary celebration is an excellent opportunity to honor the culture, traditions, and history of Maharashtra, stated Cultural Affairs and Information Technology Minister Adv. Ashish Shelar.
The program, organized by the Cultural Affairs Department of the State Government, is being held under the guidance of Minister Adv. Shelar and Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister and Additional Chief Secretary of the Cultural Affairs Department, Vikas Kharge.
In Nagpur, a cultural program has been organized on May 25, 2025, at 5:30 PM at the Kavivarya Suresh Bhat Auditorium. This program will feature Powadas (ballads), music, drama, and other artistic performances based on the life of Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar.
In Nashik, a two-day cultural festival and drama performance titled 'Gatha Ahilyadevichi, Aaplya Sanskrutichi' (The Story of Ahilyadevi, of Our Culture) has been organized on May 27th and 28th, 2025. Additionally, the historical play 'Rajyogini Ahilyadevi' will be presented on May 28, 2025. Both days' programs will begin at 6:30 PM.
The Pune program will be held on May 31, 2025, at the Balgandharva Rangmandir at 6:00 PM. This event, adorned with various cultural programs such as Shahiri Powada, Mardani Khel (martial arts), Bharud, Vasudev, and the grand play on Punyashlok, will leave a lasting impression on the audience.
The cultural programs being held in all three districts are free for everyone, and the Director of the Directorate of Cultural Affairs, Vibhishan Chavare, has appealed to citizens to attend and enjoy these programs.
