 Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis: Will Extend All Possible Help for the Development of Ichalkaranji and Surrounding Areas

 

Ichalkaranji (Kolhapur), May 23 – The state government is committed to the development plans of cities and follows a policy of giving justice to all proposals received from elected representatives. In line with this, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis assured that all possible help will be extended for the development of Ichalkaranji and the surrounding areas. He inaugurated, launched, and dedicated various development works worth more than ₹713 crore in the Ichalkaranji Assembly constituency.

 

Present on the occasion were Public Health and Family Welfare Minister and Guardian Minister of Kolhapur District Prakash Abitkar, Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil, MPs Dhananjay Mahadik and Dhairyasheel Mane, MLAs Rahul Awade, Ashokrao Mane, and Shivajirao Patil, former minister Prakash Awade, Special Inspector General of Police Dr. Shashikant Mahurkar, District Collector Amol Yedge, Superintendent of Police Mahendra Pandit, Chief Executive Officer S. Karthikeyan, Commissioner of Ichalkaranji Municipal Corporation Pallavi Patil, and Sub-Divisional Officer Mosami Chougule. On this occasion, the Guardian Minister and the District Collector presented a replica of Goddess Shri Ambabai of Karveer Nivasini to the Chief Minister.

 

The Chief Minister unveiled the foundation stone of Shahapur Police Station and also inspected the newly constructed building. Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Fadnavis stated that any proposals regarding the development of Ichalkaranji and the surrounding area will be approved immediately. He also appreciated MLA Rahul Awade for organizing multiple programs at once. During the event, he announced the online inauguration, launch, and dedication of development works worth more than ₹713 crore in the Ichalkaranji Assembly constituency.

 

This includes the implementation of an underground drainage system for the expanded Kabnur and Shahapur areas of Ichalkaranji under the centrally sponsored Urban Infrastructure Development Scheme for Small and Medium Towns, costing ₹130.60 crore, along with the dedication of an 18 MLD sewage treatment plant. It also includes the inauguration of strengthening and development work of the existing underground drainage system under the Nagarothan Mega Mission, costing ₹488.67 crore. Under the Maharashtra Suvarna Jayanti Nagarothan Mega Mission, water tanks at six different locations in the city, pumping machines, and the laying of pipelines were inaugurated, costing ₹31.37 crore. Additionally, 10 road construction projects under the Chief Minister’s Rural Road Scheme, costing ₹59 crore, were launched. The inauguration of Shahapur Police Station built at a cost of ₹4 crore and the inauguration of the Nursing College at Indira Gandhi General Hospital were also done.

 

Moreover, 4,200 beneficiaries of the Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Grant Scheme and the Shravan Bal State Pension Scheme were given approval letters, and the distribution of utensils and other materials to 5,000 construction workers was also initiated. Some beneficiaries were given approval letters and materials symbolically. After the event, the Chief Minister paid a goodwill visit to the Shri Arya Chanakya Urban Cooperative Credit Society in the city.
