HUDCO loan of ₹2,000 crore under Urban Infrastructure
Development Loan Scheme
₹822 crore for Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, ₹268 crore for Nagpur, ₹116 crore for Mira-Bhayandar
In today’s Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, approval was granted to raise a loan of ₹2,000 crore from HUDCO under the Urban Infrastructure Development Loan Scheme for municipal corporations to mobilize matching funds and complete various projects.
Accordingly,
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation will get ₹822.22 crore for a water supply project.
Nagpur Metropolitan Region Development Authority will get ₹268.84 crore for four sewage projects.
Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation will get ₹116.28 crore for a water supply project.
Various infrastructure projects under AMRUT 2.0, Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0, Maharashtra Suvarna Jayanti Nagrothan Mahabhiyan, and other central/state-level schemes are being implemented in municipal areas. To ensure that these projects do not get delayed due to lack of funds and are completed on time, the Maharashtra Urban Infrastructure Development Loan Scheme was designed as a mechanism for raising funds. Accordingly, approval was granted to raise ₹2,000 crore from HUDCO in the first phase for these municipal corporations and others.
