Ajit Pawar’s Initiative Brings ‘CIIIT’ Centre to Roha MIDC in Raigad; Tata Technologies Approves ₹105 Crore Project
Thousands of Youth from Konkan Region to Receive AI-Integrated Skill Development Training Every Year
Mumbai, May 22: Thanks to the efforts and initiative of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, a Centre for Invention, Innovation, Incubation and Training (CIIIT) has now been approved for Roha MIDC in Raigad district, following similar approvals in Beed, Nanded, and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Tata Technologies has officially sent an approval letter to Ajit Pawar confirming the project, which will be established in collaboration with the Maharashtra state government.
The total cost of the project is ₹105 crore, of which ₹89 crore will be contributed by Tata Technologies, and ₹16 crore will come from the state government and district administration. The CIIIT centre is expected to provide cutting-edge, employment-oriented skill training in artificial intelligence (AI) and other advanced technologies to thousands of youth annually in the Raigad and broader Konkan region.
Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare and Member of Parliament Sunil Tatkare thanked Deputy CM Ajit Pawar for his persistent follow-up and support in getting the project sanctioned.
This marks the fourth CIIIT centre approved in Maharashtra within just four months due to Ajit Pawar’s consistent efforts. After his formal request to Tata Technologies, centres were approved in Beed within two weeks, in Nanded and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar within one and a half months, and now in Raigad within four months.
Ajit Pawar’s swift action following his announcement has led to rapid establishment of all four centres, opening new avenues of advanced skill development and creating a favorable industrial ecosystem in these districts. His work reinforces his image as a leader who delivers what he promises – “What I say, I do.”
The Raigad centre will offer global-standard AI-enabled technical training, employment, and self-employment opportunities. It is also expected to benefit the local industrial sector by providing skilled manpower and encourage entrepreneurship and start-up development in Konkan.
According to Tata Technologies’ letter, the centre will train 3,000 youth annually, supporting the region's industrialization. The company will bear the full cost of training for the first three years. Thereafter, the cost will be shared equally between Tata Technologies and the district administration.
Local residents of Roha and Raigad have welcomed this initiative, expressing happiness and satisfaction with Deputy CM Ajit Pawar’s dynamic and result-oriented leadership.
