जल सुरक्षा के लिए व्यापक उपाय
जल सुरक्षा पहल के अंतर्गत 1.06 अरब लीटर मीठे पानी के भंडारण की क्षमता विकसित की गई है तथा सूखा प्रभावित क्षेत्रों में 45 वाटर एटीएम स्थापित किए गए हैं। मराठवाड़ा और विदर्भ के गांवों सहित राज्य के 271 गांवों में जल सुरक्षा को मजबूत किया गया है। साथ ही 8 हजार से अधिक किसानों को जल संरक्षण उपायों और जलवायु-अनुकूल कृषि तकनीकों के लिए सहायता प्रदान की गई है। जलवायु परिवर्तन के प्रभावों को कम करने की दिशा में 7 लाख वृक्षों का रोपण एक महत्वपूर्ण उपलब्धि सिद्ध हुआ है।

राज्य के विकास में बैंक का योगदान महत्वपूर्ण
मुंबई, 14 : स्टैंडर्ड चार्टर्ड बैंक द्वारा पिछले सात वर्षों में महाराष्ट्र में जल सुरक्षा, स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं, रोजगार सृजन तथा जलवायु परिवर्तन से निपटने की क्षमता विकसित करने के लिए संचालित विभिन्न सामाजिक पहलों से राज्य के 8.3 लाख से अधिक नागरिक प्रत्यक्ष रूप से लाभान्वित हुए हैं। इन पहलों ने राज्य के विकास में महत्वपूर्ण योगदान दिया है, ऐसा प्रतिपादन मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस ने किया।
मुख्यमंत्री फडणवीस ने कहा कि राज्य सरकार और निजी क्षेत्र के संयुक्त प्रयासों से विकास का लाभ समाज के वंचित वर्गों तक पहुँच रहा है। जल संरक्षण, ग्रामीण विकास, महिला सशक्तिकरण तथा स्वास्थ्य सेवा के क्षेत्रों में स्टैंडर्ड चार्टर्ड बैंक द्वारा किया गया कार्य राज्य के विकास लक्ष्यों को मजबूती प्रदान कर रहा है। बैंक की विभिन्न सामाजिक पहलों के लाभार्थियों में महिलाओं की भागीदारी 52 प्रतिशत से अधिक है तथा जल संरक्षण, स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं और आजीविका संवर्धन पर विशेष बल दिया गया है। महाराष्ट्र के 30 जिलों तथा राज्य के 75 प्रतिशत आकांक्षी जिलों में इन पहलों का प्रभावी ढंग से क्रियान्वयन किया गया है।
Remarkable Achievements in Healthcare
Under the Bank’s flagship ‘Seeing is Believing’ programme, eye examinations of 4,39,688 citizens have been conducted, while 38,625 eye surgeries have been successfully performed. A total of 49 Vision Centres have been established across the State, and these centres are now operating on a self-sustaining basis. Together, they generate an annual income of around ₹1.6 crore. The programme has also been expanded through convergence with government schemes such as the District Blindness Control Society and Ayushman Bharat.
Karuna Bhatia, Head of Sustainability, Standard Chartered Bank India, said that the Bank remains committed to improving the quality of life of underserved and marginalized communities, and that its initiatives in Maharashtra in the areas of water security, healthcare, and employment are effective examples of its long-term social commitment.
Chief Minister Fadnavis stated that these initiatives, which have brought positive change to the lives of lakhs of citizens across the State, are accelerating sustainable development, women’s empowerment, and social inclusion.

Boost to Employment and Skill Development
Under the employability programme, 6,598 youth have received skill development and employment training, of whom 63 per cent have secured jobs. Employment opportunities have been created in sectors such as electric vehicles, the automobile industry, artificial intelligence, electronics, banking, and entrepreneurship. The average annual income of beneficiaries has been recorded at ₹1.66 lakh. Women constitute 61 per cent of the beneficiaries under this programme, and special financial assistance has been provided to women entrepreneurs in rural areas. In addition, 758 women micro-entrepreneurs have also received support.
Comprehensive Measures for Water Security
Under the water security initiative, freshwater storage capacity of 1.06 billion litres has been created, and 45 Water ATMs have been established in drought-prone areas. Water security has been strengthened in 271 villages across the State, including villages in Marathwada and Vidarbha. More than 8,000 farmers have also been supported with water conservation measures and climate-resilient agricultural technologies. The plantation of 7 lakh trees has marked a significant milestone in mitigating the impact of climate change.

Mumbai, 14: The various social initiatives undertaken by Standard Chartered Bank in Maharashtra over the past seven years in the areas of water security, healthcare, employment generation, and building resilience against climate change have directly benefited more than 8.3 lakh citizens across the State. These initiatives have made a significant contribution to the development of Maharashtra, said Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
Chief Minister Fadnavis said that the joint efforts of the State Government and the private sector are ensuring that the benefits of development reach the underprivileged sections of society. The work carried out by Standard Chartered Bank in the fields of water conservation, rural development, women’s empowerment, and healthcare is complementing the State’s development goals. More than 52 per cent of the beneficiaries of the Bank’s various social initiatives are women, with special emphasis on water conservation, healthcare, and livelihood enhancement. These initiatives have been effectively implemented across 30 districts of Maharashtra, including 75 per cent of the State’s aspirational districts.
गाळमुक्त धरण, गाळयुक्त शिवार शेतकऱ्यांसाठी वरदान

मुंबई, दि. १४ : पर्यावरण वाचवणे आणि भूजल पातळी टिकवण्यासाठी पावसाचे पाणी अडवून जमिनीत मुरवणे हीच आजच्या काळातील सर्वात मोठी गरज आहे. पावसाचे वाहून जाणारे पाणी अडवून भूगर्भात मुरवणे आणि वाहून जाणारी माती थांबवणे ही गरज ओळखून 'गाळमुक्त धरण, गाळयुक्त शिवार' या मोहिमेत प्रत्येक नागरिकाने राज्य शासनासोबत एकत्र येऊन काम करणे गरजेचे आहे, असे आवाहन मृद व जलसंधारण मंत्री संजय राठोड यांनी केले.
मृद व जलसंधारण विभाग गेल्या काही वर्षांपासून राज्यभर भरीव काम करीत आहे. सध्या आम्ही 'गाळमुक्त धरण, गाळयुक्त शिवार' ही महत्त्वाकांक्षी मोहीम हाती घेतली असल्याची माहिती मंत्री श्री.राठोड यांनी दिली.
