 Government Machinery Must Remain on 24x7 ‘Alert Mode’ in View of Heavy Rainfall

·         Chief Minister reviews the rain situation in the State from the Disaster Management Control Room at Mantralaya

·         Citizens should avoid stepping out of their homes for the next two days unless absolutely necessary

 

Mumbai, July 6: Wind speeds of 50 to 70 kmph are likely in Mumbai and the coastal districts. In addition, high tide is expected between 3:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. today. Against this backdrop, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis directed all concerned agencies to remain on 24x7 alert mode and undertake immediate rescue and relief operations in the event of any emergency. As heavy rainfall is expected across the State today and tomorrow, the Chief Minister also appealed to citizens not to venture outdoors unless absolutely necessary.

The Chief Minister reviewed the rain situation across the State at a meeting held at the State Disaster Management Control Room. Disaster Management Minister Girish Mahajan was present on the occasion.
