Connect New Nagpur Roads to the Outer Ring Road: CM Devendra Fadnavis Approval for Formation of a Company to Manage NMRDA Properties Mumbai, October 20:Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has directed that the roads in New Nagpur should be connected to the Outer Ring Road. He further instructed that adequate provisions should be made from now itself to facilitate the future transformation of this Outer Ring Road into a Multimodal Corridor. In a key decision, approval was granted to establish a dedicated Asset Management Company for the management of existing and future properties owned by the Nagpur Metropolitan Region Development Authority (NMRDA) during its meeting held today. The 10th meeting of the Nagpur Metropolitan Region Development Authority was chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis at Sahyadri Guest House. Revenue Minister and Nagpur District Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Metropolitan Commissioner Sanjay Meena, and Additional Chief Secretary of the Urban Development Department Asimkumar Gupta were present on the occasion. During the meeting, approval was also granted for the establishment of a Nagpur Metropolitan Transport Undertaking Company to streamline transportation within the Nagpur metropolitan region, bring better coordination between public and private transport, and develop new and feeder routes. Other major approvals included: · Appointment of a Project Management Consultant for the development of an Industrial Corridor within the NMRDA area. · Transfer of land for the proposed Nagpur Jail. · Creation of a separate CSR account head within NMRDA. · Completion of the remaining works at Deekshabhoomi. · Approval for the revised organizational structure of 156 posts in the NMRDA. · Appointment of Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT) as the implementing agency for various ongoing projects in the Nagpur Municipal Corporation area. A total of 21 subjects were approved in today’s meeting. Chief Minister Fadnavis also instructed that the connecting roads in New Nagpur should be well-planned and wide enough to ensure smooth connectivity to the Outer Ring Road. Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule suggested that the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana benefits should be extended to the rural areas of Nagpur. Metropolitan Commissioner Sanjay Meena made a detailed presentation on various developmental initiatives.
