The CM spoke freely about his fondness for radio listening to music, writing songs, and shared memorable radio-related anecdotes. He even composed and sang an impromptu poem during the session. Highlighting the enduring significance of radio, he stated, “Radio has been vital since the beginning and continues to remain indispensable today. It is a powerful medium that reaches the last person.” Fadanavis remarked, “In our childhood, days began by tuning into radio. We never missed the songs on Vividh Bharati in the mornings. This early bond with radio led me to believe that the government should do something for those working in this field and this awards ceremony fulfills that purpose. Though radio programs lack visuals, they convey vivid imagery through words.” On World Music Day, during the Radio Festival and Awards event, radio jockeys Sidhu, Akki, Archana, Brajesh, Bhushan, and Sapna Bhat conducted the interview. Henal Mehta coordinated the event attended by Minister for Cultural Affairs Adv. Ashish Shelar, veteran singer Maharashtra Bhushan Asha Bhosle, Additional Chief Secretary Vikas Kharge, and Director Vibhishan Chavre. Fadanavis added, “Music brings sensitivity and stress relief to humans. In stressful times, listening to music restores mental calmness and clarity. Many citizens make radio programs an integral part of their lives. Thus, radio will never lose its importance.” He further acknowledged Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recognition of radio’s reach launching the Mann Ki Baat program to highlight that radio is not just a music platform but a means of communication.
