SPECS 2030” Initiative to Provide Eye Care to Citizens of Gadchiroli

Mumbai, March 8: A concerted effort is underway to raise awareness about eye health, extend quality yet affordable eye-care services, and deliver treatments in backward and tribal districts like Gadchiroli. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated that the “SPECS 2030” project—spearheaded by the State Public Health Department in collaboration with the World Health Organization will lead to better education for children, job opportunities for youth, and an overall improvement in the community’s quality of life.

The CM called for the SPECS 2030 initiative to be implemented in Gadchiroli district by the WHO. He added that with this initiative, Gadchiroli’s Aheri taluka would become a national model for eye health services.

Under the scheme, titled “SPECS 2030 One Site Program”, the State Health Department, along with the OneSight-Luxottica Foundation and WHO, will launch operations in Gadchiroli and four other underserved districts across India. The program will run under the National Programme for Control of Blindness and Visual Impairment (NPCBVI) framework.

Globally, 2.2 billion people suffer from vision disorders, and at least 1 billion cases are preventable. In India, approximately 53% of vision impairment originates from correctable refractive errors, affecting one in every ten schoolchildren. In response, the WHO launched the SPECS 2030 initiative, aiming to ensure affordable, quality spectacles for all by 2030.

In Gadchiroli as well as selected regions in Assam (Dhubri), Odisha (Kalahandi), Rajasthan (Alwar), and Uttar Pradesh (Prayagraj) the program will adopt the “Asha Kiran Model”. Under this model, ASHA workers will conduct baseline eye screenings door-to-door, distribute spectacles at health centers, and facilitate cataract surgeries in government hospitals.

The initiative will also include training of local health workers, community awareness campaigns, school- and Gram Panchayat-level health dialogues, outreach through local organizations and media, and data collection to assess program effectiveness.

मुंबई,दि.८ : परभणी जिल्ह्यातील ग्रामपंचायत स्तरावर पहिले सर्वेक्षण पूर्ण केले असून जिल्ह्यातील एकल महिलांचे प्रमाण पाहून राज्यातील एकल महिलांच्या सक्षमीकरणासाठी विविध उपक्रम राबविणार असल्याचे महिला व बाल विकास राज्यमंत्री मेघना बोर्डीकर यांनी सांगितले.

राज्यमंत्री  बोर्डीकर यांनी या गंभीर प्रश्नात लक्ष घालून, परभणी जिल्ह्यातील ग्रामपंचायत स्तरावर पहिले सर्वेक्षण पूर्ण केले आहे. नगरपंचायत, नगरपालिका व महापालिका क्षेत्रातील सर्वेक्षण लवकरच होणार असल्याचे त्यांनी सांगितले.

सक्षमीकरणासाठी विविध उपक्रम राज्यमंत्री  बोर्डीकर म्हणाल्या  महिलांच्या आर्थिक सक्षमीकरणासाठी कौशल्यविकास, बचत गटांचे सशक्तीकरण, गृहउद्योग प्रोत्साहन, आरोग्य व निवारा सुविधा यांसारखे कार्यक्रम राबवले जातील. यासाठी शासन, स्थानिक स्वराज्य संस्था आणि सी आर एस भागीदार यांच्यामार्फत एकात्मिक धोरणात्मक कृती आराखडा तयार करण्यात येणार आहे.

तालुका व जिल्हा स्तरावर कृतीगट स्थापन करण्यात येणार ६० वर्षांवरील महिलांसाठी वृद्धापकाळातील योजनांचा अभाव लक्षात घेता त्यांना आरोग्य, सुरक्षितता व उदरनिर्वाहासाठी नवे उपक्रम राबवले जाणार आहेत. उमेद व माविम यांच्या मदतीने स्वयंरोजगार व कौशल्यविकासाचे प्रयत्न वेगाने सुरू करण्यात येणार असून तालुका व जिल्हा स्तरावर कृतीगट स्थापन केले जातील.

राज्यमंत्री बोर्डीकर म्हणाल्या, एकल महिला हा राज्यातील दुर्लक्षित प्रश्न आहे. या सर्वेक्षणातून त्यांची सामाजिक, आर्थिक व शैक्षणिक दुरवस्था समोर आली आहे. आगामी कृती आराखड्यामुळे या महिलांचे सर्वांगीण सक्षमीकरण होईल आणि महिला सन्मान व सामाजिक समावेश साध्य करता येईल.

परभणी जिल्ह्यातील ग्राम स्तरावरील सर्वेक्षणात  निरक्षर व शेतमजुर महिला असून
जमिनीचा मालकीहक्क, राहते घर व उत्पन्नाचे साधन यांचा  अभाव यामुळे या महिलांना आरोग्य, निवारा, उपजीविका आणि सामाजिक सुरक्षा यांसारख्या मूलभूत सुविधांची  गरज असल्याचे त्यांनी यावेळी सांगितले.

परभणी जिल्ह्याच्या ग्रामीण भागात  ३४ हजार ७३३ एकल महिला असल्याचे अंगणवाडी सेविकांच्या मदतीने झालेल्या सर्वेक्षणातून  निदर्शनास आली आहे आहे. या महिलांपैकी  विधवा आणि ज्येष्ठ नागरिक आहेत

Mumbai: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis emphasized today that just as sacred texts like the Gita, Bible, Quran  and constitution of development serve as guiding pillars, Maharashtra’s “Vision Document 2047” should serve as the foundational framework for the state’s future policies. He made these remarks during a review meeting on the ‘Developed Maharashtra Vision Document 2047’ held at Sahyadri Guest House. Attendees included Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Chief Secretary Rajesh Kumar, and various department secretaries and principal secretaries. Presentations covered key sectors including water, power, education, social welfare, industry and services, technology, and the economy.

Fadnavis praised the presentations, noting the deep thinking involved and expressed satisfaction. “We are on the right path. A roadmap for the next 25 years is being laid. A vision provides direction; it is essential that our goals and direction are clearly defined.” He stressed that the vision document must go beyond mere paperwork and be fully implemented. “If we consistently work towards this vision over the next five years, we will surely realize the dream of Developed Maharashtra by 2047,” he added.

गोसीखुर्द ते निम्न वर्धा सर्वेक्षणाचे काम वेळेत पूर्ण झाले

 मुख्यमंत्री श्री. फडणवीस म्हणाले की, प्रकल्पाची तपासणी राज्यस्तरीय तांत्रिक सल्लागार समितीमार्फत करून सविस्तर प्रकल्प अहवाल १५ ऑक्टोबर २०२५ पर्यंत शासनाकडे सादर करावा. तसेच या प्रकल्पाला कालबद्ध नियोजन करून गती द्यावी. यासाठी केंद्र शासनाकडे पत्र पाठवून, प्रकल्पाच्या किमान २५ टक्के निधी केंद्र सरकारकडून मिळवता येईल का यासाठी राज्य सरकारकडून पाठपुरावा केला जाईल. राज्य शासनाकडूनही आवश्यक निधी उपलब्ध करून दिला जाईल.

प्रकल्पाच्या पहिल्या टप्प्यातील गोसीखुर्द ते निम्न वर्धा सर्वेक्षणाचे काम वेळेत पूर्ण झाले आहे. पुढील कामकाजासाठी पर्यावरण मान्यता प्राप्त करून प्रकल्पाचा पहिला टप्पा तात्काळ सुरू करावा, असेही मुख्यमंत्री श्री.फडणवीस यांनी यावेळी सांगितले.

मुंबई, दि. ८ : राज्यातील महत्त्वाकांक्षी वैनगंगा–नळगंगा नदीजोड प्रकल्पाद्वारे विदर्भ आणि मराठवाडा विभागातील पाणीटंचाई दूर करण्यासोबतच शेतीला शाश्वत पाणीपुरवठा उपलब्ध होणार आहे. या प्रकल्पाला गती देण्यासाठी सविस्तर प्रकल्प अहवाल (DPR) दिनांक १५ ऑक्टोबर २०२५ पर्यंत शासनाकडे सादर करावा, असे निर्देश मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस यांनी दिले. तसेच आर्थिक नियोजनासाठी केंद्र सरकारकडे निधी मागणीसंदर्भात पत्र पाठवून पाठपुरावा केला जाईल आणि राज्य सरकारकडून आवश्यक निधी उपलब्ध करून दिला जाईल, असेही मुख्यमंत्री श्री.फडणवीस यांनी यावेळी सांगितले.
