 Data center companies should be provided land immediately

Mumbai, April 18: Many globally renowned companies, especially from the Middle East, in the data center sector are interested in investing in Maharashtra. In this context, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has directed that land should be made available immediately to the concerned companies after agreements are signed.

A presentation and meeting regarding data centers was held at Sahyadri State Guest House. Industry Minister Uday Samant attended virtually. Senior officials including Metropolitan Commissioner Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee, Additional Chief Secretary (Energy) Abha Shukla, Additional Chief Secretary to CM Lokesh Chandra, Principal Secretary Dr. Shrikar Pardeshi, Industries Principal Secretary P. Anbalagan, CIDCO Managing Director Vijay Singhal, and Investment & Policy Advisor Kaustubh Dhavse were present.

The Chief Minister stated that many reputed global companies in the data center sector are keen to invest in Maharashtra, and all necessary processes—especially land allocation—should be completed in a time-bound manner. He also instructed that electricity supply should be prioritized for these companies. Concerned departments must ensure speedy execution. CIDCO should develop a land bank, and the Energy Department should make land available for substations immediately.

 

Infrastructure available for data centers

CIDCO informed that infrastructure for data centers is being made available, while the Energy Department stated that adequate electricity supply will be ensured for such companies.
