Mumbai Climate Week to begin on February 17 in the presence of dignitaries

Mumbai, Feb. 15 — The country’s first Mumbai Climate Week will commence on February 17 in the presence of distinguished dignitaries, bringing a global climate dialogue to Mumbai from February 17 to 192026.

Positioning the city as a citizen-driven climate platform for the Global South, the initiative has been organised by social organisation Project Mumbai with the support of the Maharashtra government’s Environment and Climate Change Department. The programme is being supported by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority and the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation. The main sessions will be held at the Jio Convention Centre.

During the three-day event, grassroots organisations, sector leaders, industry experts and policymakers will deliberate on climate solutions relevant to India and the Global South. Global and national leadership will converge on a common platform, featuring former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, public health expert Soumya Swaminathan, industry leader Esther Finidori, and legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, along with Union ministers, international delegates, over 100 organisations and 400 speakers. Focus areas will include urban resilience, food systems and energy transition. Entry is open to climate enthusiasts through prior registration.
