On the occasion of Veer Bal Diwas, we must commit ourselves through our actions to walk on the path of humanity shown by the Gurus and to imbibe their ideals in our lives, appealed Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

The sacrifices made by the entire family of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji for the nation, culture and values are immortal in history. The decision to observe Veer Bal Diwas on December 26 is highly significant. Since Guru Tegh Bahadur protected righteousness till his last breath, his history must always be remembered by all, he said.

The Chief Minister said that today marks the remembrance of the unparalleled courage and sacrifice of Sahibzada Baba Zorawar Singh (aged 9 years) and Sahibzada Baba Fateh Singh (aged 7 years), the sons of the tenth Guru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. On Veer Bal Diwas, let us bow to these brave, martyred Sahibzadas and pray to the Gurus that their steadfastness, courage and unwavering faith may also be instilled in us, he appealed.

Chief Minister Fadnavis further stated that the martyrdom of the entire family of Guru Gobind Singh Ji has remained a perennial source of inspiration for the nation. Despite enduring immense sacrifices, Guru Gobind Singh Ji never wavered from his mission. All Sikh Gurus set before the world the finest example of sacrifice for humanity, religious freedom and the protection of values.

The cruelty of that era was so horrific that even tender-aged children like Sahibzada Baba Zorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh were martyred. The State Government is also commemorating the Martyrdom Commemoration Year of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. Known as ‘Hind Di Chadar’, Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji made the supreme sacrifice for the nation and the protection of its culture, the Chief Minister said.

Through Gurbani, this great tradition continues to guide humanity on the righteous path of life even today. The teachings of the Gurus constantly convey the message of giving meaning to life and serving humanity. India and the entire human race will never forget these great sacrifices. It is because of their sacrifices that our existence, faith, language and culture have survived. We must bow our heads in humility before their unparalleled sacrifice, Chief Minister Fadnavis noted.

The Chief Minister further said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has emphasised that remembering those whose sacrifices have ensured our existence is the path to a successful future. With this spirit, the decision was taken to observe Veer Bal Diwas in memory of the valour of the Sahibzadas. On this day, let us collectively remember the Gurus and the sacrifices of their family and resolve to stand ready for the protection of humanity and to walk on the path shown by the Gurus. It is a matter of immense pride and significance that the Nanak Naamleva community received the true path of life through the teachings of the Gurus, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said.
