Employment Guarantee for Women and Youth
The Prime Minister’s Employment Guarantee Scheme is being implemented in both rural and urban areas to empower women and youth toward self-reliance. Those registered on the Udyam portal are trained and offered subsidized loans. So far, the scheme has facilitated the creation of 80.33 lakh employment opportunities — 80% in rural areas and 20% in urban regions.
To further empower women and youth, the MSME department continues to take proactive measures. Unemployed youth who receive training are offered credit guarantees of up to ₹5 crore under schemes supporting larger industries. This has encouraged many new entrepreneurs to enter the sector.
