Thousands of women to gain employment through the Koradi, Nagpur project.

 

Mumbai, 21st: The Women's Economic Development Corporation (MAVIM) will provide training, stipends, and employment to women through a modern garment center in Koradi, Nagpur. To expedite this project, a single tender process should be conducted, and a report on the project's commencement should be submitted. Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare instructed that various projects in Koradi should be initiated within a specific timeframe. Revenue Minister and Guardian Minister Chandrakant Bawankule had requested that women receive regular training and stipends.

An overview meeting regarding the textile processing project, incense stick production from floral waste, pollution-free Kalamkari and textile processing project, and sanitary napkin production project, aimed at economically empowering self-help groups in Nagpur district under MAVIM, was organized at the Ministry. Minister Tatkare spoke during this meeting.

Secretary Dr. Anupkumar Yadav, MAVIM Managing Director Nayana Gunde, Joint Secretary of the Department V. R. Thakur, and General Manager Ravindra Sawant were present at the meeting.

Minister Tatkare said, "The Women's Economic Development Corporation is working to provide employment to women. The garment center in Koradi, Nagpur, under the Corporation, will provide sewing training to women in self-help groups to empower them economically. To start this center immediately, a single tender process should be conducted, and the center should be started within the stipulated time. She also instructed that they should receive regular six-month training and that the stipends provided for the training should be given on time. This center will provide employment to approximately 200 women."

Additionally, the incense stick production unit project, approved in the space provided by Mahalakshmi Jagdamba Sansthan Koradi Gram Panchayat, will provide approximately 100 women with an income of ₹6,000 to ₹7,000 per month through the production of incense sticks and dhoop. Furthermore, thousands of women will gain employment through the pollution-free Kalamkari and textile processing project and the sanitary napkin production project. Minister Tatkare instructed that actions should be taken to start these projects immediately.
