Skill Development Center to be Set Up in Pune City – Minister Uday Samant
Mumbai, March 19 – Pune city attracts a large number of students for education, as well as many young men and women seeking employment. To enhance the skill development of students and youth in Pune, a Skill Development Center will be set up under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), announced Minister Uday Samant today while responding to a call-attention motion in the Legislative Assembly.
Member Vijay Shivtare had raised a call-attention motion regarding the issues faced by villages newly included in the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC). Member Bhimrao Tapkir also participated in the discussion.
Responding to the issue, Minister Samant said that the villages of Fursungi and Uruli Devachi have been excluded from the Pune Municipal Corporation and have been established as a separate municipal council. Considering the population, a report from the Konkan Divisional Commissioner will be accepted to grant ‘A’ grade status to this municipal council. Until the transfer of services from PMC is completed, infrastructure development work in these areas will continue.
Additionally, he assured that property tax in newly included villages will not be doubled. The property tax in these villages will not exceed twice the previous Gram Panchayat tax, and until the tax is revised, the collection has been temporarily put on hold.
Minister Samant also assured that residents will not face inconvenience due to the Fursungi garbage depot. A Detailed Project Report (DPR) will be prepared for water supply schemes from Jambhulwadi Lake, and the lake will also be beautified.
A meeting will soon be held to resolve issues related to the 32 villages newly included in Pune Municipal Corporation. Furthermore, water supply schedules for Fursungi and Uruli Devachi will be planned according to the convenience of residents, the minister added.
