Diesel Quota of 1,68,109 KL Approved for Fishing Boats in March

Mumbai, April 1: For the financial year 2025-26, the Fisheries Department has approved a diesel quota of 1,68,109 KL for the month of March. This quota will be distributed among 7,796 mechanized fishing boats registered under 138 fishermen cooperative societies across the maritime districts of Maharashtra.

The committee established for the approval of the diesel quota has sanctioned this allocation. Under the current Rear Craft Online System, only those boats that hold a valid registration certificate and legal fishing license have been granted the diesel quota.

Additionally, fishing boats found violating the provisions of the Maharashtra Marine Regulation Act, 1981 (Amended 2021) have been suspended. The department has also canceled the fishing licenses of boats detected as violators in patrol boat and drone surveys. Such boats have been excluded from the diesel quota proposal.

The Fisheries Department has conveyed this information in an official statement.
