Proposed Mumbai Water Metro Project
At present, Maharashtra handles 1.80 crore passengers annually across 36 passenger routes. In the Mumbai Metropolitan Region alone, 21 routes operate, carrying 1.6 crore passengers annually.
Under the proposed Mumbai Water Metro Project:
21 terminals will be constructed
200 nautical-mile routes will be developed
Preparation of the Detailed Project Report is underway
