He paid tribute to Dr. Deepak Jayant Tilak, great-grandson of Lokmanya Tilak, trustee of the daily Kesari, and Vice-Chancellor of Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth.

In his condolence message, the Chief Minister noted that Dr. Tilak ably carried forward the rich legacy passed down by Lokmanya Tilak and his grandson, the late Jayant Tilak. Though he remained largely distant from active politics, Dr. Tilak responsibly shouldered the work initiated by Lokmanya Tilak through Kesari, and significantly contributed to the fields of education and social service. Through these efforts, he became a foundational figure for many social organizations, trusts, and institutions.

A scholar and researcher in the fields of management and journalism, Dr. Tilak inspired countless young minds to pursue research in these areas. His impactful contribution through Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth has enriched the education sector.

With Dr. Deepak Tilak’s passing, the state has lost a towering figure who was a guiding light in the realms of social service, education, and culture. His demise is a deep loss to these sectors. His family, associates from various institutions and organizations, and numerous social activists have suffered a profound loss. “We share in their grief and pray that they find strength in this difficult time. May his soul attain peace,” the Chief Minister added in his tribute.
