India Wins the PD Champions Trophy 2025 – Sports Minister Felicitates the National Differently-Abled Cricket Team
Government to Provide Full Support for the Progress of Differently-Abled Cricket: Sports Minister Dattatray Bharne
Mumbai, April 5: Maharashtra’s Minister for Sports and Youth Welfare, Dattatray Bharne, congratulated the Indian Differently-Abled Cricket Team for winning the PD Champions Trophy 2025 held in Colombo, Sri Lanka. He assured that the government will extend all necessary support and assistance for the growth of differently-abled cricket in the country.
The Indian team emerged victorious by defeating England in the final match. The team was recently felicitated at the state ministry premises, where the Minister appreciated their commendable performance.
Minister Bharne praised the players for their determination, passion for cricket, and their grit in overcoming adversities. He stated that this victory marks a historic milestone for Indian differently-abled athletes and will serve as an inspiration for many young aspiring players.
The winning team was led by Captain Vikrant Keni, with Ravindra Sante as the Vice-Captain. Key players included all-rounder Akash Patil and batsman Kunal Phanse.
The felicitation ceremony was also attended by Kalpesh Pundalik Gaikar (DCCI Committee Member), Vishwanath Gurav (President, Wheelchair Sports Association), Rahul Ramugade (Captain, Mumbai Wheelchair Cricket Team), and Prashant Vishnu Nerpagare (Para Shooter and Wheelchair Basketball Player).
