Investments Worth ₹1 Lakh Crore Expected

Davos, January 21: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday said that the visit to Davos on the occasion of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting in Switzerland is a significant effort to attract knowledge, technology and foreign investment to India and, in turn, to Maharashtra. On the second day of the visit, the Raigad–Pen Growth Centre was announced as the first city in the proposed Third Mumbai.

On this day, several strategic Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed. These included technical cooperation agreements with the University of California, University of Berkeley, Technical University of Munich, Urban Futures Collective (London), ICCI (Italy), Ålång Tuning Institute, Norwegian Geotechnical Institute, and Subana Jurong (Singapore) in the field of urban planning.

The Chief Minister said these agreements are not limited to investment alone but will help bring large-scale industries through the exchange of knowledge and technology, and enable effective work across multiple sectors. Agreements related to urban planning and transport will help design and strengthen transport infrastructure in cities.

Chief Minister Fadnavis said that Davos provides opportunities to access Knowledge, Technology and FDI (Foreign Direct Investment), which greatly benefits the country and the state. This year, meaningful dialogue and coordination were achieved with global leaders in urban planning and transport management.
