Mumbai, April 4 : To mitigate the damages caused by wild elephants to farmers in Dodamarg taluka of Sindhudurg district, Forest Minister Ganesh Naik has directed the formation of a Primary Rapid Response Team. He also instructed officials to prepare a detailed plan to relocate the elephants to the protected zone around the Tilari Dam.

A review meeting chaired by Minister Naik was held at the Mantralaya to address the wild elephant menace in the Dodamarg area. The meeting was arranged at the request of former Minister and MLA Deepak Kesarkar. Present at the meeting were Milind Mhaiskar, Additional Chief Secretary of the Forest Department, Shomita Biswas, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Vivek Hosing, Deputy Secretary, and B.V. Ramarav, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, among others.

Minister Naik stated that wild elephants are causing significant damage to farmers’ crops in Sindhudurg. A comprehensive action plan should be drafted by the Forest Department to manage the situation. If elephants are retained in their natural habitat, they will avoid entering human settlements. Hence, in the protected area of the Tilari project, trees such as bamboo, banana, and jackfruit should be planted to ensure food availability for the elephants.

Additionally, the Forest Department should plan fencing along railway tracks in regions with elephant movement. The elephants should also be monitored using radio collars, and the department should seek technical guidance and trained manpower from the forest departments of Karnataka and West Bengal.

Minister Naik further directed that a proposal be submitted to increase compensation for crop loss caused by wildlife, and that bamboo cultivation should be included in the compensation scheme.

MLA Deepak Kesarkar highlighted the losses faced by farmers in Dodamarg and requested urgent action to resolve the issue.

Mumbai, April 4 :To develop modern sports training systems, infrastructure, sports science, sports medicine, organize competitions, provide awards and incentives to athletes, offer career guidance, and enhance players' skills, the "Mission Lakshyavedh" scheme is being implemented. Under this scheme, private sports academies will be provided financial assistance. Interested sports academies should submit their applications by April 21, informed Rashmi Ambedkar, District Sports Officer of Mumbai Suburban.

The government is constantly striving to promote, preserve, and nurture a sports culture in the state and to develop talented athletes. Systematic efforts are being made to help athletes win medals in international events like the Olympics. Under Mission Lakshyavedh, financial support will be provided to private sports academies in Maharashtra that specialize in one of the following 12 disciplines:

Athletics, Archery, Badminton, Boxing, Hockey, Lawn Tennis, Rowing, Shooting, Sailing, Table Tennis, Weightlifting, Wrestling.

For the Mumbai Suburban district, the eligible sports are: Boxing, Athletics, Wrestling, Table Tennis, and Shooting.

🏆 Classification & Financial Assistance:

The classification of private academies will be based on a scoring system which evaluates:

• Number of athletes
• Coaches and assistant coaches
• Available training infrastructure and its quality
• Sports equipment
• Performance of the academy

Scoring Criteria:

• Category ‘C’: 35 to 50 points → ₹10 lakh per annum
• Category ‘B’: 51 to 75 points → ₹20 lakh per annum
• Category ‘A’: 76 to 100 points → ₹30 lakh per annum

The financial aid can be used for:

• Building/upgrading sports infrastructure
• Coaches’ honorarium
• Equipment and training tools, etc.

Mumbai, April 4 : A large expanse of mangroves is located along the creekside of Airoli in Navi Mumbai, Thane district, which is also home to a significant population of flamingos. Forest Minister Ganesh Naik has directed that a feasibility study be conducted and a report submitted for the development of a Mangrove Safari Park in this region to boost eco-tourism.

A meeting regarding various issues related to the Forest Department was held under the chairmanship of Forest Minister Ganesh Naik at the Mantralaya. Present at the meeting were Praveen Pardeshi, CEO of Maharashtra Institute for Transformation (MITRA), Milind Mhaiskar, Additional Chief Secretary of the Forest Department, Shomita Biswas, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Vivek Hosing, Deputy Secretary, B.V. Ramarav, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, among others.

Minister Naik stated that the creekside areas of Navi Mumbai present excellent opportunities for tourism development. Mangroves and flamingos can serve as major attractions for nature lovers. He suggested that a world-class mangrove park could potentially be developed in areas like Airoli and Ghansoli, and that a field inspection should be carried out followed by a detailed report.

He also emphasized the need to develop measures to prevent human-wildlife conflict, particularly in regions like Junnar, Karad, and Sangamner, where leopard sightings are frequent. On the lines of the Jawai Leopard Safari in Rajasthan, he proposed that similar safaris be studied for these three talukas.

To protect endangered species like the Indian bison (Gaur) and Great Indian Bustard (Maldhok), it was proposed to establish an International Breeding Centre at the Gorewada Project in Nagpur. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS) has been planned for this, and the Minister instructed that swift action be taken in this regard.

Mr. Pardeshi also emphasized the importance of the international breeding centre and the MoU with BNHS, highlighting the need to accelerate this initiative.

मुंबई, 4 अप्रैल : आधुनिक खेल प्रशिक्षण प्रणाली, आधारभूत सुविधाएँ, खेल विज्ञान, खेल चिकित्सा, प्रतियोगिताओं का आयोजन, खिलाड़ियों को पुरस्कार एवं प्रोत्साहन, करियर मार्गदर्शन तथा कौशल विकास के उद्देश्य से "मिशन लक्ष्यवेध" योजना लागू की गई है। इस योजना के अंतर्गत निजी खेल अकादमियों को वित्तीय सहायता प्रदान की जाएगी। इच्छुक अकादमियां 21 अप्रैल तक आवेदन कर सकती हैं, यह जानकारी मुंबई उपनगर की जिला क्रीड़ा अधिकारी श्रीमती रश्मी आंबेडकर ने दी है।

राज्य में खेल संस्कृति के संवर्धन, प्रचार-प्रसार एवं प्रतिभाशाली खिलाड़ियों को तैयार करने हेतु सरकार निरंतर प्रयासरत है। खिलाड़ियों को ओलंपिक जैसी अंतरराष्ट्रीय प्रतियोगिताओं में पदक प्राप्त करने के लिए नियोजित रूप से कार्य किया जा रहा है।

मिशन लक्ष्यवेध के अंतर्गत राज्य की ऐसी निजी अकादमियां जो निम्नलिखित 12 खेलों में कार्यरत हैं, उन्हें सहायता प्रदान की जाएगी:

मुंबई, दि. ४ : ठाणे जिल्ह्यातील नवी मुंबई भागातील ऐरोली खाडी किनारी मोठ्या प्रमाणात कांदळवन असून येथे फ्लेमिंगो पक्ष्यांचे वास्तव्य असते. पर्यटनाच्या दृष्टिने या भागात कांदळवन सफारी पार्क (मँग्रोव्ह पार्क) उभारण्याच्या दृष्टिने अभ्यास करून अहवाल देण्याचे निर्देश वन मंत्री गणेश नाईक यांनी दिले.

 वन विभागाच्या विविध विषयासंदर्भात वनमंत्री श्री. नाईक यांच्या अध्यक्षतेखाली मंत्रालयात बैठक झाली. यावेळी महाराष्ट्र इस्टिट्यूट फॉर ट्रान्सफॉर्मेशन (मित्रा) संस्थेचे मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी प्रवीण परदेशी, वन विभागाचे अपर मुख्य सचिव मिलिंद म्हैसकर, प्रधान मुख्य वन संरक्षक शोमिता बिश्वास, उपसचिव विवेक होसिंग, अतिरिक्त प्रधान मुख्य वन संरक्षक बी.व्ही. रामाराव आदी उपस्थित होते.

 श्री. नाईक म्हणाले की, पर्यटन विकासासाठी नवी मुंबईतील खाडी किनारी उत्तम संधी आहेत. कांदळवन, फ्लेमिंगो पक्षी हे निसर्ग पर्यटकांसाठी आकर्षण ठरू शकतात.त्यामुळे या परिसरातील ऐरोली, घनसोली या भागात जागतिक दर्जाचे मँग्रोव्ह पार्क उभारता येईल का याचा अभ्यास करून जागा पाहणी करावी. यासंदर्भातील सविस्तर अहवाल द्यावा.

तसेच वन्यजीव व मानव संघर्ष टाळण्यासाठी उपाय योजना करण्यात याव्यात. विशेषतः जुन्नर, कराड व संगमनेर परिसरात मोठ्या प्रमाणात बिबट्यांचा वावर आहे. राजस्थानमधील जवाई बिबट सफारीच्या धर्तीवर या तीन तालुक्यातही बिबट सफारी करता येईल का याचाही अभ्यास करण्याचे निर्देश वन मंत्री श्री. नाईक यांनी दिली.

 रान म्हैस, माळढोक या सारख्या संकटग्रस्त प्रजाती वाचविण्यासाठी नागपूरमधील गोरेवाडा प्रकल्पात आंतरराष्ट्रीय प्रजनन केंद्र स्थापण्याचे प्रस्तावित आहे. यासाठी बॉम्बे नॅचरल हिस्ट्री सोसायटीबरोबर सामंजस्य करार करण्याचा निर्णय घेतला असून या संदर्भात तातडीने कार्यवाही करण्याचे निर्देशही श्री. नाईक यांनी यावेळी दिले.

श्री. परदेशी यांनी आंतरराष्ट्रीय प्रजनन केंद्र व बीएचएनएसबरोबरचा करार महत्त्वाचा असून यास चालना देण्याची आवश्यकता व्यक्त केली.

मुंबई,  :- सिंधुदुर्ग जिल्ह्यातील दोडामार्ग तालुक्यातील शेतकऱ्यांना होणारा हत्तींचा उपद्रव रोखण्यासाठी प्राथमिक प्रतिसाद दल स्थापन करावे. तसेच या हत्तींना तिलारी धरणाच्या परिसरातील संरक्षित क्षेत्रात नेण्यासाठी आराखडा तयार करण्याचे निर्देश वन मंत्री गणेश नाईक यांनी दिले.

 दोडामार्ग तालुक्यातील रानटी हत्तींच्या उपद्रवामुळे होणारा त्रासासंदर्भात उपाययोजना करण्यासंदर्भात  मंत्रालयात वनमंत्री श्री. नाईक यांच्या अध्यक्षतेखाली बैठक झाली. त्यावेळी ते बोलत होते. माजी मंत्री आमदार दीपक केसरकर यांच्या विनंतीनुसार ही बैठक लावण्यात आली होती. यावेळी वन विभागाचे अपर मुख्य सचिव मिलिंद म्हैसकर, प्रधान मुख्य वन संरक्षक शोमिता बिश्वास, उपसचिव विवेक होसिंग, अतिरिक्त प्रधान मुख्य वन संरक्षक बी.व्ही. रामाराव आदी यावेळी उपस्थित होते.

 श्री. नाईक म्हणाले की, सिंधुदुर्ग जिल्ह्यात रानटी हत्तींमुळे शेतकऱ्यांचे नुकसान होते. या हत्तींपासून संरक्षण करण्यासाठी वन विभागाने सविस्तर आराखडा तयार करावा. या हत्तींना नैसर्गिक अधिवासात ठेवल्यास ते शेताकडे येणार नाहीत. त्यासाठी तिलारी प्रकल्पाच्या संरक्षित भागात या हत्तींना ठेवण्यासाठी त्या ठिकाणी हत्तींच्या उपजिवीकेसाठी आवश्यक असलेले बांबू, केळी, फणस आदी झाडे लावण्यात यावे. तसेच हत्तींचा वावर असलेल्या परिसरात रेल्वे रुळांचे फेन्सिंग करण्यासंदर्भात नियोजन करावे. या रानटी हत्तींना रेडिओ कॉलरिंग करून त्यांच्या वावरावर लक्ष ठेवण्यात यावे. यासाठी कर्नाटक व पश्चिम बंगालच्या वन विभागातील प्रशिक्षत मनुष्यबळांचे मार्गदर्शन घ्यावे.

वन्य प्राण्यांमुळे होणाऱ्या शेती पिकाच्या नुकसान भरपाईच्या रक्कमेत वाढ करण्याचा प्रस्ताव पाठवावा. तसेच यामध्ये बांबू पिकाच्या समावेशाबद्दलही प्रस्ताव सादर करण्याचे निर्देश श्री. नाईक यांनी दिले.

श्री. केसरकर यांनी दोडामार्ग तालुक्यात रानटी हत्तींमुळे होणाऱ्या नुकसानीची माहिती देऊन लवकरात लवकर मार्ग काढण्याची विनंती केली.
