•Best Logo to Receive First Prize of ₹3 Lakh
Nashik, Dec 11: The Simhastha Kumbh Mela—an extraordinary confluence of faith, purity and spirituality—will be held at Nashik-Trimbakeshwar in 2027. To mark this grand occasion, the Nashik Trimbakeshwar Kumbh Mela Development Authority has organised a Logo Design (Emblem) Competition. Only ten days are left to participate in this competition, and citizens are urged to submit their entries by 20 December 2025. Winners will receive prizes of ₹3 lakh, ₹2 lakh and ₹1 lakh for the first, second and third positions respectively, along with certificates. This information was shared by Dr. Praveen Gedam, Divisional Commissioner and Chairman of the Kumbh Mela Development Authority.
Simhastha Kumbh Mela – One of the World’s Largest Spiritual Gatherings
The Simhastha Kumbh Mela, held at Nashik-Trimbakeshwar, is among the largest spiritual congregations globally. It is organised once every twelve years on the banks of the Godavari River—also known as the ‘Southern Ganga’—which flows through Nashik district. Rooted in the legendary tale of Samudra Manthan (churning of the ocean), this Kumbh Mela symbolises eternal cycles of faith, sanctity and renewal. Trimbakeshwar—one of the twelve Jyotirlingas—along with Nashik’s rich culture, temples, and ghats embodies the spiritual and historical heritage reflected during the Kumbh Mela.
The grandeur of Nashik’s Ramayana-associated sites, the ghats, the sacred Trimbakeshwar Shrine and the perennial flow of the Godavari connect both cities deeply. As the Kumbh Mela continues to evolve as a vibrant and globally recognised spiritual festival, it mirrors the aspirations of the 21st century. The logo competition aims to create a fresh, dynamic visual identity rooted in India’s cultural foundations.
The new emblem will draw from the legacy of earlier designs while expressing timeless emotions of devotion and unity in a modern, relevant and visually compelling manner. It should appeal to diverse audiences across India and worldwide. Participants may derive inspiration from the culture, heritage, architecture, rituals and natural beauty of Nashik and Trimbakeshwar. The desired logo must be memorable, representing devotion, celebration and eternal tradition across all platforms. Importantly, this emblem will serve as a distinct visual identity for Kumbh Mela 2027, symbolising the spiritual essence of Nashik-Trimbakeshwar and India’s cultural richness.
