National Education Policy is a Historic Step for Intellectual Rejuvenation of India

National Education Policy is a Historic Step for Intellectual Rejuvenation of India" – Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan emphasized that India’s freedom struggle was not only against British rule but also aimed at restoring Indian values through education. The imposition of the Macaulay system by the British damaged India’s traditional knowledge systems and fostered a mindset of subjugation. He said that the National Education Policy 2020 is a historic step towards the intellectual and psychological rejuvenation of the nation and called for efforts at all levels to ensure its effective implementation. He outlined the historical evolution of India's education system, the need for change, and the way forward.

Pradhan remarked that institutions like Narsee Monjee are not just educational centers but serve as inspirations for building a new India. He emphasized that SVKM should contribute significantly to sectors like commerce, trading, and entrepreneurship, which form the backbone of the Indian economy. Addressing the students, he said, You are not just learners, but warriors of a new India. Your contribution is vital in building a developed India.
