Nagpur to Get a Vedic Mathematics Excellence Center;
Government to Provide Full Support - CM Devendra Fadnavis
Publication of Vedic Mathematics Volumes
Nagpur, March 31: Various sciences developed in India are fundamentally based on mathematics. The knowledge contained in Vedic Mathematics volumes will now be presented to society anew. It is essential to pass on the significance and applications of Vedic Mathematics to future generations. In this regard, a Vedic Mathematics Excellence Center should be established at Bharati Krishna Vidya Vihar, and the government will extend full support to this initiative, stated Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
At Bharati Krishna Vidya Vihar School, operated by the Vishva Punarirman Sangh, the two volumes of Vedic Mathematics written by Adi Shankaracharya Krishna Tirtha Maharaj were released by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Chief Dr. Mohan Bhagwat in the esteemed presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The event was also attended by Vishva Punarirman Sangh President Prafullkumar Kale, General Secretary Shailesh Joglekar, and other board members.
CM Devendra Fadnavis stated that numerous significant sciences evolved in ancient Indian culture. However, due to foreign invasions, this knowledge could not reach everyone. Adi Shankaracharya Krishna Tirtha Maharaj studied Vedic verses and systematically presented comprehensive mathematical concepts in the Vedic Mathematics volumes. These books have been included in the curriculum for students from grades five to seven under the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Through these volumes, the vast treasure of Vedic knowledge has been explored. Vedic Mathematics is an invaluable knowledge asset of India, and to promote its research and preservation, an Excellence Center should be set up at Bharati Krishna Vidya Vihar, Fadnavis asserted. He further mentioned that the Education Department would positively consider introducing Vedic Mathematics to students.
RSS Chief Dr. Mohan Bhagwat highlighted the importance of calculations and numerical data in various aspects of human life. He emphasized that Vedic Mathematics, rooted in ancient Indian traditions, contributes to the welfare of the world. He further stated that Vedic Mathematics could play a crucial role in ongoing global transformations based on spirituality and significantly contribute to making the world a prosperous and happy place. Providing references from Sankhya Darshan, geometric indices, as well as narratives from Nal-Damayanti and the Mahabharata, he elaborated on the importance of mathematics.
Vishva Punarirman Sangh President Prafullkumar Kale delivered the introductory speech, while General Secretary Shailesh Joglekar expressed gratitude.
