Mumbai, June 14 – "Money is not the real capital, people are. Industries go where there is skilled manpower, research, and innovation. Therefore, creating a quality, multi-skilled workforce is essential, making human resource development the true investment," said Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

He was speaking at the inauguration of the new buildings of Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management and Engineering and Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, along with the groundbreaking ceremony of a new educational complex by SVKM (Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal), held at Vile Parle. The event was attended by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Chancellor of NMIMS University Amrishbhai Patel, SVKM Vice President Bhupeshbhai Patel, MLAs Parag Alavani and Amit Satam, former MLA Kripashankar Singh, Bharat Sanghvi, Jayant Gandhi, faculty members, and students.

Chief Minister Fadnavis stated that institutions like NMIMS have carved a unique identity in the country by delivering academic excellence, a transparent admission process, and world-class education. He announced the launch of the "EduCity" project in Navi Mumbai in collaboration with the central government, spread across 250 acres. This initiative will host centers of five leading international universities – the University of Aberdeen, University of York, University of Western Australia, Illinois Institute of Technology, and Istituto Europeo di Design. This will bring global knowledge to India, reduce costs, and eliminate the need for students to go abroad.

“Earlier, education systems were slow and rigid, with curriculum changes taking years. Now, thanks to the NEP (National Education Policy), flexibility and dynamism have been introduced. Maharashtra and Mumbai have become startup hubs of India. The state government has created a fund to support budding entrepreneurs, Fadnavis added. He also mentioned that a committee has been formed to look into raising the height limit for educational institution buildings, and a decision will be taken soon based on its report. Efforts are also underway to make land available for a world-class stadium for students and youth in the area.
