Technology to Make Revenue Department More Efficient: CM Devendra Fadnavis
Two-Day Revenue Conference Concludes in Nagpur
Nagpur, August 3 – The Revenue Department is the backbone of the state’s economic development and is recognized for its speed, transparency, and prompt service delivery, said Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. He emphasized that it is currently the department offering the highest number of online services to citizens and that the recommendations made by study groups during the Revenue Conference would serve as a guiding framework for future policy decisions.
The Chief Minister was addressing a session on the second day of the Revenue Conference held at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Nagpur. Revenue Minister Radhakrishna Bawankule, Chief Secretary Rajesh Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue) Vikas Kharge, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Srikar Pardeshi, Settlement Commissioner, Inspector General of Registration, Divisional Commissioners, District Collectors, and senior revenue department officials were present.
Highlighting the need for timely and strategic changes in the functioning of the Revenue Department, CM Fadnavis stated that the state government is striving to make the department more people-centric and capable by leveraging technological advancements. The conference aimed to deliberate, evaluate, and brainstorm on key policy issues, culminating under the leadership of the Chief Minister.
Committees led by Divisional Commissioners submitted various reports during the conference. These included vital suggestions for enhancing efficiency and streamlining revenue operations. Through their presentations, the committees underscored the importance of increasing transparency and ensuring that no citizen is left out of the benefits of revenue services and schemes. CM Fadnavis instructed officials to thoroughly study every recommendation so that the report to be submitted to the government would be accurate and flawless.
