       Mumbai, 27 : A delegation of high-level officials from the Election Commission of Indonesia  visited the office of the Chief Electoral Officer of the state in Mantralaya today.  On this occasion, they interacted with Chief Election Officer S. Chokkalingam.

      India is known as the largest democracy in the world.  The office of the State Election Officer under the Election Commission of India is conducting the Lok Sabha 2024 election process in the state in a strict and systematic manner. During the visit Chief Electoral Officer of Maharashtra State S. Chokkalingam informed the delegation about total voters in the state, facilities provided for voters, voter awareness etc. 

       On this occasion, Chief Election Commissioner of Indonesia Election Commission Idhaham Holik, Secretary Benard Der, Ma Wan Srishtono, Deputy Chief Election Officer Suryadi, Officer Robi Leo Agus, Moh Sakir Randia, Saikir, Saraha Goksi, Council General Tolh Ubadi, Vijay Tawde, Visa Officer Mohd. Akhyar,  Rajesh Padya, Joint Chief Electoral Officer of State Election Department Manohar Parkar were present on the occasion.

      Chief Electoral Officer S.  Chokkalingam on this occasion also informed about the powers and functioning of Maharashtra State Election Officer Office and elections in India.  Elections to local bodies are conducted independently through the State Election Commission. On this occasion, he provided detailed information about

State population, Lok Sabha Constituencies, total polling stations, polling phases in the State, phase wise election process, EVMs, VVPAT machines, ballot units, law and order, political parties and Code of Conduct, initiatives taken for voter enhancement, check posts set up in the State and   various apps and portals developed by the Commission using modern technology in the election process.
